B Corporation

Certified B Corporation

Following a rigorous assessment of all aspects of our business, Becketts is very proud to have been certified as a B Corporation (B Corp). This means our business meets the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Our application was supported by our Social Impact Portfolio which was launched in January 2016.

B Corp certification is a third-party certification standard issued by the non-profit B Lab behind the B Corporation movement. The certification shows that a company has had its claims voluntarily investigated by a third-party organisation and has taken legal accountability for its impact on stakeholders. B Lab publishes social and environmental performance on the B Corp website as part of the certification process, where any public member can view a businesses impact and see how it ranks amongst other organisations.

The certification also reflects our commitment to diversity and inclusion; we were an early signatory to HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter which helps improve opportunities and progression for women in financial services, ensuring talented individuals can progress irrespective of their gender.

We are proud of our B Corporation status but won’t rest on our laurels. We will look to do even better when we are reassessed in three years’ time.

B Corp Impact Report

Our B Corp Impact Report details our journey to B Corp certification and many of the actions we took to achieve it.  The Report also looks at the steps we’re wanting to take to improve our score.

2022 Suffolk Carbon Charter - Silver

Carbon Charter

Becketts has been granted the Silver level of the Suffolk Carbon Charter in recognition of the steps we have been taking to reduce our carbon footprint. We have progressed from the Bronze level, and we’re working towards Gold.

What is the Carbon Charter?

The Carbon Charter is an award presented to small and medium sized businesses in recognition of the steps they have taken to reduce their carbon emissions and support the local environment.

It provides support and recognition to SMEs that commit to and adopt carbon reduction measures and sustainable business practices throughout Suffolk and Norfolk.

What changes has Becketts made?

The Carbon Charter panel was pleased to see that Becketts has set out a clear plan for managing our environmental impacts, and shows a strong approach to engaging the whole workforce on improving environmental performance, with the backing of senior management.
